Novel Ocular Formulations
Delivery of ocular drugs is a challenge due to the complexity, diversity and sensitivity of the eye tissues and the location of ocular diseases (e.g. administration to the retina). Moreover, diseases of the eye are more difficult to treat than most, since the eyes are designed to keep foreign objects out. Even eye drops can be quickly washed away.
We have developed an internal expertise in ocular drug development and have strengthened our team with scientists and clinicians specialized in ophthalmology. When developing products, our skillful team takes into consideration several parameters including:
• Needs and expectations of patients and clinicians
• Anatomy and physiology of the eye
• Pharmacokinetic performances of the product
• Target ocular tissue
• Ocular comfort of the formulation
In order to strengthen our field of expertise, we have built a solid network of scientific experts in Europe, the US and Japan. Our Scientific Advisory Board has brought together world-renowned experts in ophthalmology and pharmaceutical development. They provide recommandations on the relevance of our research and development programs and on the therapeutic and marketing needs.
We have already developed two proprietary technologies: Novasorb® and Eyeject®.
